How I Work

I take my lead from what you, whether client or supervisee, wish to explore and go at the pace you wish to go.

I have a quiet and gentle conversational style that can nonetheless be direct and challenging. My own training is broadly creative and meditative. I have experience in movement, walking in a quiet space outside the consulting room, mindfulness, phobia treatment, voice-work, drama, working with objects and using a wide range of literature. I work with families, couples, people who are especially fragile or deeply distressed, and people who think their troubles are almost too small to bother with.

I am committed to:

• Continually opening my mind to you as a unique whole person with every meeting we have.
• Holding a safe, boundaried, confidential space within which we mutually explore whatever you wish to bring.
• Working alongside and in conversation with you so that your empowerment and self-worth are encouraged.

Don’t expect me to be a guru, an expert or an adviser and don't expect me to be perfect. Instead, see me as someone who may have worked through or, at least has an understanding of, some of what you want to explore and who might be a useful companion for part of your journey.

Fees

I charge a nominal £10 for an initial hour’s exploratory meeting regardless of your status or financial circumstances. Thereafter my fee is scaled between £30 and £80 per hour, including room hire charges, respectful of what is affordable and whether the work is one to one, with couples or supervision. This scale enables me to use the higher fees to support those who are less well off. My fees start around £30 to £35 who ever you are. I do not go below that but there is Arkordia, a charity operating from the same address, to which I refer people who cannot afford my fees.

Cancellations made clearly more than 24 weekday hours before the appointment do not incur a charge. For those made less than 24 weekday hours I charge £10.00 unless there is an emergency. Where people simply do not inform me at all I charge the full fee.
